This tour is one of our three daily standard tours and normally starts in the morning, although this is negotiable.

For those of you who want to come away with a great overview of the Ypres Salient whilst visiting iconic sites, this classic tour is the one you should choose.

The first visit is to the site where Lieutenant - Colonel John McCrae wrote the iconic In Flanders Fields poem - Essex Farm cemetery and advanced dressing station bunkers.

The tour then goes on to the Yorkshire Trench and Dugout site to walk through a reconstructed trench on the British front line from 1915 to 1917.

Then follows a drive through the hamlet of Pilkem on the way to the German Cemetery in the village of Langemark, and afterwards a visit to the iconic Brooding Soldier Monument at Vancouver Corner and the story of the first gas attacks.

Driving through the battlefields of Passchendaele,we keep a sharp look out for unexploded ammunition along the way. 

The tour concludes at the iconic Tyne Cot Cemetery in Zonnebeke, the largest British and Commonwealth military cemetery in the world.

The tour duration is around 3.5 hours and is conducted in English.
